Affiliate disclosure
Last updated: September 1, 2026
The short version: we earn commissions when you buy a policy through some of our links, but those commissions never decide our rankings — and you never pay extra for using them.
1. Who we are
DachshundInsurance.com is an independent, breed-specific resource for dachshund owners researching pet insurance. The site is operated by Best Dog Insurance LLC, and our reviews, cost guides, and IVDD coverage analysis are written and fact-checked by founder Allen Lee.
2. How we make money
DachshundInsurance.com is a participant in affiliate advertising programs. When you click a link to a pet insurance provider on our site and subsequently enroll in a policy, we may receive a commission from that provider at no additional cost to you. These commissions help us keep the site free to read and independent of any single carrier.
3. How commissions affect our rankings
Commissions do not influence which providers we recommend or the order in which we rank them. Our rankings are based on the criteria published on each provider review, applied consistently across every carrier — whether or not that carrier has an affiliate program. When a non-affiliate carrier genuinely outperforms an affiliate, we rank it higher.
4. Providers without affiliate programs
Some providers we recommend do not have affiliate programs at all. We include them because they belong in a fair, complete comparison. Recommending only paying partners would skew our reviews against the dachshund owners who rely on them.
5. Which links are affiliate links
"Get Free Quote" and similar call-to-action buttons that send you to an insurance provider's website are typically affiliate links. Plain navigational links between pages on DachshundInsurance.com are not. We do not use affiliate links inside the body of our cost or IVDD analysis except where clearly labeled.
6. No cost to you
You never pay more for a policy because you reached the provider through our link. The premium you are quoted is the same price the provider offers directly. Affiliate commissions are paid by the provider, not by you.
7. Why this matters for a YMYL topic
Pet insurance is a financial and health-related decision (a "Your Money or Your Life" topic). Because coverage, exclusions, and pricing vary by insurer, policy, state, and individual dachshund, we encourage you to verify every detail directly with the provider before enrolling. Our role is to narrow your options — never to make the decision for you.
8. Regulatory basis and contact
This disclosure is made in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidelines under 16 CFR Part 255 (Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising).
